"Mobile flood barrier prevented major damage to a house in Flåm," writes NRK.

After early snowfall followed by heavy rain, flood warning lights flashed in Aurland municipality. In just a few hours, the municipality's technical department and fire service installed the mobile Haawal flood barrier in a vulnerable area in the center of Flåm.


The employees from the technical department working with the mobile flood barrier—it is installed quickly without any tools.


Three years ago, the municipality purchased flood barriers specifically with this type of incident in mind. They can be thankful for that now: 'The fire chief of Aurland municipality, Reinhardt Sørensen, is clear that the new equipment has made a difference. He believes the barrier, combined with water pumps, has prevented significant damage to several houses located near the river,' writes NRK in an article.

Due to the steep terrain and the location of Flåm, there is very little warning time from heavy rain to flooding. Therefore, quick-to-install solutions are absolutely essential.
